NOVEMBER SCHEDULE

El Paso, TX- The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has launched a FREE Spay and Neuter Program for residents of El Paso County.

Animals that are spayed or neutered can also receive their microchip, rabies and booster shots FREE. Services cannot be administered independently; you must have the three services done the same day.

The spay and neuter program is open to residents of Horizon City, Vinton, Anthony, Clint, and residents of other unincorporated areas within El Paso County. 

**** Spay and Neuter services will now be available by appointment ONLY. ****

WANTED SEX OFFENDER – HERRERA, RICARDO

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the community in locating Ricardo Herrera.

Herrera was released from the Rudd ISF Unit in Brownfield, Texas, on October 25, 2019. Herrera was scheduled to arrive in El Paso, Texas on the same date and notify TDCJ Parole of his arrival along with reporting to 1700 Horizon Blvd.

Herrera failed to notify TDCJ of his arrival, and he never checked into the halfway house. He is currently on Parole for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and is a registered sex offender for the offense of Indecency With a Child/Contact out of the State of Texas, the victim being a 7-year-old female.

His last known location was at the intersection of Texas Ave and 9th St in Lubbock, Texas.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS WANTED INDIVIDUAL IN FAR EAST EL PASO

October 26, 2019

El Paso, TX – On October 26, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies located and arrested 17-year-old Alejandro Galindo.

Galindo was located at a residence located in the 500 block of Emerald Dunes Pl. A subsequent search conducted by detectives led to the recovery of several stolen items. Galindo was wanted for Aggravated Robbery, Burglary of Habitation, and Assault totaling $115,000.00. in bonds.

Galindo’s father, 44-year-old, Gabriel Moya Galindo, was also arrested on a charge of Hindering Apprehension.

Both individuals were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that it is a crime to hide someone who is wanted on warrants or to prevent their arrest in any way. The offense is a Class A Misdemeanor unless the wanted subject is pending felony charges, in which case the offense becomes a third-degree felony.

El Paso, TX – On Thursday, October 24, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information of a terroristic threat posted on social media.

Through the course of the investigation, the offender was identified as a 13 -year old who posted that there was going to be a shooting at Garcia Enriquez Middle School. No students or faculty were in danger as a result of the threat.

The juvenile was referred to the Juvenile Probation Department.

El Paso, TX – On September 16, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information regarding an illegal dumping incident that occurred in the 14000 block of Windermere Ave.

The anonymous reporter provided deputies with pictures of the unknown offender discarding trash and miscellaneous construction materials.

As a result of the investigation, deputies identified the offender as Gabriel Trejo, age 39. On October 3, 2019, Sheriff’s Office deputies obtained a warrant for Trejo’s arrest.

On October 22, 2019, Trejo surrendered himself to deputies and he was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Illegal Dumping >5 LBS < 500 LBS with a $2000.00 bond.

El Paso, TX – On October 22, 2019, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of Justin Troy Anderson, age 33, for theft.

The victim reported a small quad/ATV and various landscaping equipment was taken without their consent from their storage unit located on 13400 block of Boots Green Rd.

Through the course of the investigation, the stolen property was located on a trading/selling website. Sheriff’s Office deputies with the assistance of the victim arranged to meet Anderson to purchase the stolen property.

After the purchase was made, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Square Dance Rd. and Boots Green Rd. and took Anderson into custody.

Anderson was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Theft Prop >=$750<$2,500 with a $2,500.00 bond.

El Paso, TX – Each year near Halloween the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office initiates inspections of registered sex offender's homes to ensure they are not displaying any type of decorations that may allure or attract children to their residence.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, the Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration and Tracking Unit in partnership with the El Paso County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (Intensive Supervision Sex Offender Unit) initiated inspections and verifications of 76 registered Sex Offenders. The terms of their parole or probation prohibit these individuals from displaying any type of decorations. The 76 homes inspected were found to be compliant.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office wishes to remind everyone to exercise caution and safety this Halloween, never allow children to go out on their own, stay in groups and always have an adult with them. Wear bright reflective clothing and carry a flashlight and cell phone with you. Avoid any homes that are off of main roadways. Discard any unwrapped treats, and report any suspicious activity. Stay alert and aware of surroundings. Remember the safety and protection of children is everyone’s responsibility.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the community in locating Tyler Alex Brandl.

On October 14, 2019, Tyler Alex Brandl absconded from the El Paso Multi-Use Facility located at 1700 Horizon Blvd. Brandl cut off his ankle monitor, walked away from the facility and his whereabouts are now unknown.

He is now wanted on a Parole Violation and an additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Aggravated Sexual Assault, the victim being a 17-year-old female at the time of the offense. He is on parole for said offense.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a car seat event on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019.

The car seat event will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy parking lot; 12501 Montana.

In partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation, Sheriff’s Office deputies will be checking car seats for proper installation.

Technicians will evaluate each child according to age, height, weight, and/or any developmental needs to ensure the child is using the appropriate car seat. Children must be present, please arrive early, lines may be closed before the end time if needed.

Participants must be Texas residents, and provide proof of Texas Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the community in locating a dark in color Sport Utility Vehicle/Minivan (possibly a Dodge Caravan).

Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators believe the vehicle may have been involved in the fatal pedestrian accident from October 5, 2019.

The vehicle will have front end damage, including possible windshield damage. Investigators believe the vehicle continued traveling eastbound after the collision.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the assistance of the El Paso County community in locating the following missing person.

Luis Adrian Urias age 27, left his residence on the 4800 block of Wingard the morning of October 7, 2019. He was last seen walking southbound on Zaragoza Rd at approximately 8:00 am, and he has not returned home since.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, with a black long sleeve undershirt, gray sandals, and a gold-colored watch.

He requires medication, which he has been without since leaving his residence.

UPDATE – October 11, 2019

Through the course of the investigation, Sheriff’s Office detectives received a tip providing information on the possible identity and location of the unknown individual.

As a result, detectives identified the individual as Alejandro Hernandez, age 54. Detectives made contact with Hernandez and determined he had abandoned the puppies.

On Friday, October 11, 2019, Hernandez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals with a bond totaling $1,500.00.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING ANIMAL CRUELTY CASE

October 7, 2019

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the community in identifying an individual wanted for animal cruelty.

On September 2, 2019, video surveillance shows an unknown individual arrives at the 690 block of Horizon Blvd. The individual exits the vehicle removes a box from the car and approaches the dumpster on the property abandoning six canine puppies.

The individual was driving a dark-colored Hyundai vehicle and is believed to reside near the area where the incident occurred.

Sheriff’s Office Animal Welfare Officers recovered the puppies and they were taken to Animal Services. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this as an animal cruelty case.

El Paso, TX – El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a wanted individual following a traffic stop in Far East El Paso County.

Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on the 190 N. San Elizario Rd. with the assistance of the Tribal Police Department.

Deputies made contact with Victor Beltran, and through the course of the traffic stop, deputies determined Beltran was wanted for seven outstanding warrants.

Beltran was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on five warrants for Deceptive Business Practice, and two warrants for Theft Prop >=$750<$2500, totaling $105,600.00 in bonds.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the

community regarding a theft that occurred at a tire shop located in far east El Paso County.

The theft occurred on August 31, 2019, when two unknown individuals removed numerous tires from the business located on the 800 block of Peyton Rd.

Video surveillance shows the individuals approach the door and removing the tires from the storage area.

SHERIFF RICHARD D.WILES AND EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVE CHECK FROM HOMELAND SECURITY

The Office of Homeland Security and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office work long term investigations of organized crime and Narcotics smuggling.  When the cases are closed, certain assets that were purchased with illicit proceeds are seized and auctioned in accordance with state and federal laws.  The proceeds from the auctions are divided amongst the participating agencies. 

On Thursday, October 3, 2019, HSI SAC Jack P. Stanton presented Sheriff Richard D. Wiles and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with a check for $75,000 as a result of the Sheriff’s Office participation in these long term investigations.  These Monies are used by the agency to offset needs that would normally be paid for by tax payers.
