OPERATION RESULTS IN NARCOTICS ARREST

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested one individual following an operation.

On December 5, 2019, the Narcotics Unit conducted a surveillance operation at a residence located in the 11000 block of Mesquite Lake Ln. 

On December 18, 2019, a subsequent search warrant was obtained for the residence, yielding the seizure of a large amount of various narcotics and a large amount of US currency from narcotics sales. Adrian Martinez, age 32 was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=400G, MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=4G<200G, POSS CS PG 1 <1G, POSS CS PG 1 >=1G<4G, POSS CS PG 3 < 28, POSS DANGEROUS DRUGS, totaling $441,500 in bonds.

TRAFFIC ALERT–CONSTRUCTION STREET CLOSURE–SUN FIRE BLVD.

STREET CLOSURE – SUN FIRE BLVD.

El Paso, TX – Recently the construction on both Pellicano Dr. and Eastlake Blvd. have moved into different phases and as a result, traffic has been effected tremendously.  The two intersections most affected are Rojas Dr/Eastlake Blvd and Sun Fire Blvd/Pellicano Dr.  Traffic in both areas have been narrowed to two lanes.  As a result the Sheriff’s Office has been working, with El Paso County Planning and Development Transportation Division and the Contractors on the different projects, developing a traffic plan for the areas.  The public can expect to see deputies working the areas to assist with traffic flow during peak hours. 

Commuters are asked to seek alternate routes and to expect delays if travel is made through the area.  In addition, no access to Sun Fire Blvd from Pellicano Dr. will be allowed to alleviate traffic traveling east and westbound on Pellicano Dr. on December 19, 2019, between 4:00pm hours and 7:00pm.  Anyone needing to access Sun Fire Blvd will need to access the area through Vista Del Sol Dr or Paseo Nuevo Dr.  Access to Sun Fire Dr will be reopened after 7:00pm.

A complete closure of Sun Fire Blvd from Pellicano Dr. will be instituted at 2:00pm on December 20th, 2019.  That closure will have a duration of several weeks as the current phase of the project is completed.

TOY DONATION FROM HAPPINESS SENIOR CENTER

Sheriff Richard D. Wiles, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section and Santa will be presented with a toy donation from the members of the Happiness Senior Center on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 10:00 am.

The members of the center have collected toys and will donate them to the “Santa with a Badge” Toy Drive during their Christmas Celebration.  The Happiness Senior Home is located at 563 N. Carolina St., media partners we hope you can join us!

TRUNK OF H.O.P.E

Sheriff Richard D. Wiles and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Operation H.O.P.E will be hosting an early Christmas Celebration in Vinton, Texas, on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Together we will distribute toys to the children of Vinton and the unincorporated areas in west El Paso County. Children will be able to pick a NEW TOY out of the trunk of a Sheriff’s Office patrol unit.

Children and families will also be able to take pictures with Santa and the Operation H.O.P.E Super Heroes.

Join us from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office Northwest Patrol Station located at 435 E. Vinton Rd. Suite D.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS INDIVIDUAL FOR TERRORISTIC THREAT

December 7, 2019

El Paso, TX – On November 08, 2019, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to the El Paso County Courthouse in reference to a reported threat of violence to be committed against a District Judge.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that 38-year-old Jose Humberto Martinez had placed a phone call to the court presiding over the Capital Murder case of Patrick Crusius (the alleged Walmart shooter.) Martinez threatened to kill the presiding District Court Judge and Crusius if he did not receive the death penalty.

On December 06, 2019, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant charging Jose Humberto Martinez with a 3rd Degree Felony Terroristic Threat. Martinez was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $75,000.00 bond.

NARCOTICS OPERATION RESULTS IN ARREST

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested one individual following an operation.

On October 17, 2019, the Narcotics Unit initiated an operation following information received about the possible promotion and sale of illegal narcotics. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Armando Barron, age 39, delivered controlled substances for sale while operating his UPS work truck. As a result of the investigation, Barron was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on December 5, 2019. He was booked on three counts of Man Del CS PG 3/4 <28G, Man Del CS PG 2 OR 2-A >=4G<400G, and Poss Dangerous Drugs.

El Paso, TX – On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the El Paso County Sheriff`s Office Narcotics Unit conducted an operation following information received of possible narcotic activity.  Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant at a residence located in the 8600 block of Edgemere Blvd. As a result of the operation, Jose Guillen age 56, was found in possession of Cocaine and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

Guillen was booked for MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=200G <400G, MAN DEL CS PG 1 >=400G, and MAN DEL CS PG1>=1G<4G totaling $230,000 in bonds.
