Implementation of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Property Tax Foreclosure Auction Site

El Paso, TX Sheriff Richard Wiles is pleased to announce the implementation of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Property Tax Foreclosure Auction Site. The Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with El Paso County Administration, El Paso County Auditor’s Office, City of El Paso Tax Office and Realauction.com, created a website to facilitate the online sale of real property based on tax foreclosures. Pursuant to Texas Tax Code 34.01 and 34.05 and after approval by El Paso County Commissioner’s Court and Sheriff Wiles, the Sheriff’s Office will sell real property online beginning August 3, 2021. Properties offered for sale are those that are delinquent in payment of property taxes. The City of El Paso Tax Office is responsible for the collection of taxes for the taxing entities in El Paso County. The Sheriff’s Office works in conjunction with the City Tax Office and the Delgado Acosta Spencer Linebarger and Perez Law Firm.

The website is now live and can be visited by clicking on the link below. Prospective bidders should access the site and register for training and access. Bidders will need to register and establish an account prior to participating in the auction.

Previously, the Sheriff’s Office conducted these sales in person at the El Paso County Courthouse. When the COVID 19 pandemic began, sales were moved to Liberty Hall and then to the County Coliseum.

The Sheriff’s Office will have a preview of the website operations, conducted by the Sheriff’s Office and Realauction.com on Tuesday July 20th 2021, at 12:45 pm, at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy located at 12501 Montana, El Paso Texas. Virtual training session begins at 1:00 pm.

News media is encouraged to attend. Media Partners please RSVP with Chris Acosta ChAcosta@epcounty.com by Monday 19th 2021.
