WANTED SEX OFFENDER CAPTURED – CARLOS TANGUMA

El Paso, Texas – On December 2, 2021, Carlos Tanguma self-surrendered to the Tom Green Co. Sheriff’s Office. HE was booked into the Tom Green Co. Jail.

El Paso, Texas – On 09/22/2021, Carlos Tanguma absconded from the El Paso Transitional Living Center located at 1650 Horizon El Paso TX 79928. He jumped over the chain linked fence ran away from the facility towards Horizon Blvd and his whereabouts are now unknown. He is now wanted on a Parole Violation and an additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Indecency with a Child/Contact, the victim being a 14 year old female and is currently on parole for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

UPDATE: VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH FATALITY on I-10 Mile Marker 39

El Paso, Texas On December 9, 2021, At approximately 03:30 AM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators were requested to mile marker 39 on Interstate Highway 10 in reference to a motor vehicle crash involving a fatality. Investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on the westbound lanes of travel (wrong way). A vehicle that was traveling westbound (correct) on the inside lane was struck (head-on) by the wrong-way driver. The driver of the vehicle traveling the wrong way was pronounced dead on the scene as she was later identified as Stephanie Montoya.  The driver of the other vehicle was transported to local area hospital for medical evaluation. This is the 20th reported traffic fatality in the county compared to 15 fatalities in 2020.

News Release: Vehicle accident with 1 Fatality

El Paso, Texas- On Thursday, December 9, 2021, at approximately 3:15 am Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to I-10 west and mile marker 39 reference 2 vehicle accident. Special Traffic Investigators were called to the scene. The Driver of one vehicle was transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and the other person from the other vehicle died at the scene due to the injuries from the accident. At this time I-10 from Clint to Horizon westbound closure for the next 4 hours.

As we receive information we will release, no further information at this time.

2021 ANNUAL TOY DRIVE KICK OFF – Majesty Car Club

El Paso, Texas The Sheriff’s Office has been very fortunate, several organizations want to help with Santa with a Badge Toy Drive. The organizers of Majesty Car Club held a car show on Sunday, December 5th, 2021 at Twin Peaks located at The Fountains at Farah. They had beautiful cars and trucks displayed for the public to enjoy. Participants and community people donated lots and lots of toys for the County of El Paso children. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Foundation has a goal to collect more than 2,000 toys.

If anyone wishes to donate toys or make a monetary donation, they can be dropped off at El Paso County Sheriff's Office Headquarters, 3850 Justice Drive off Montana Avenue. Donations can be made to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Foundation.

2021 ANNUAL TOY DRIVE KICK OFF – Viejitos Car Club

December 7, 2021

El Paso, Texas For the past 10-years, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Community Services Section has partnered with the Viejitos Car Club on our Annual Santa with a Badge Toy Drive. On December 4, 2021, The Toy drive was held at 9500 Montana, the Viejitos showed case their beautiful cars and trucks. The Sheriff’s Office also participated by displaying The Sheriff’s Office 53” Chevy Truck. Patrol Commander Ryan Urrutia presented a jacket to organizer Beto Rivera for taking the lead for the past 10 years. Lots of toys were collected by the participants and community people enjoying the car show. We are very grateful to our El Paso Community for helping make the little ones smile this Christmas.

WANTED SEX OFFENDER CAPTURED – GUADALUPE SALDANA JR.

December 7, 2021

El Paso, Texas – On November 29, 2021 Guadalupe Saldana was taken into custody on the 1200 block of Myrtle, El Paso, TX and booked into the El Paso County Jail by El Paso Police Department.

El Paso, Texas – On September 3, 2021, Guadalupe Saldana Jr. absconded from the El Paso Transitional Living Center located in Horizon, Texas. He was allowed to go to work but never returned to the facility and his whereabouts are now unknown.

He is now wanted on a parole violation warrant and an additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, the victim being a 12 year old female and he is currently on parole for said offense.

Vehicle Pursuit Incident

NEWS RELEASE: El Paso, Texas - On December 1st at 1042 hours the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Section received notification from Socorro Police Department of a vehicle pursuit, with shots fired, entering the unincorporated areas of the County of El Paso.  Once the pursuit concluded the Sheriff’s Office determined that the pursuit stemmed from an incident in the City of Socorro.  The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred during the incident.  The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that 27 year old Aaron Salazar has died as a result of the incident.  The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office will provide details as they become available.

WANTED SEX OFFENDER – RAPH ANGEL GONZALEZ

El Paso, TX The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from the community in locating Ralph Angel Gonzalez.

Offender previously reported a change of address claiming relocation within the city limits of El Paso, TX. He failed to register/verify with the El Paso Police Department and has been labeled as “Absconded”, whereabouts unknown. He is a registered sex offender following a conviction of Annoying or Molesting Children out of the State of California, the victim being a 9-year-old female.
