El Paso County Commissioner Pct.1 Luis G. Sariñana
Commissioner Luis Sariņana, Precinct 1, now in office
-
- Surrounded by family, friends and supporters, Luis Sariņana, who joins
Commissioners Court as its newest member for Precinct No. 1, took his oath
of office from Judge Patrick Garcia, of the 384th District Court last week
in the County's Courtroom.

-
- "I thank the voters who placed their confidence in me, and I promise not
to disappoint their trust," Sariņana said, adding that one of the first things
he will do in office is meet with every department head and listen to their
needs and hopes. "Another of my priorities is working closely with the city
administration and with Fort Bliss. By working together as a team we can accomplish
so much more to make El Paso progress."
-
- Sariņana, a former city representative, was elected earlier this month to
finish the term left vacant in the Court by Barbara Perez, when she ran for
County Judge. He will represent the county office for two more years, before
he can run for re-election. The East Side resident bested Commissioner Larry
Medina for the position in the March primaries and Daphne Love Hamilton in
the Nov. 7 general election, with 58 percent of the votes.
-
- Commissioner Sariņana, who dedicated the election to his 82-year-old father,
Domingo Sariņana, said he is committed to serve El Paso's families. To make
sure he hears from his constituents and the community, he has pledged an open-door
policy. To make an appointment or to comment, please call (915) 546-2014.
