El Paso County Commissioner Pct. 3
Willie Gandara
- Mission Statement
-
- Be an effective, proactive, and ethical public servant who stands by you to make
El Paso County the best in Texas and the gem of the Southwest.
- Goals
-
- My business and professional background allows me to think county government should be more business like. We need to stretch and account for our taxpayer’s money and balance our county budget. Our obligation is to fulfill our mandates and challenge to explore creative cost effective plans to address our county’s needs.
-
- Immediately, after I won office, I’ve been preparing myself and doing my homework to better represent you. I’ve met with department staff; I sat at budget hearings and have a firm understanding of county budget and its administrative responsibilities. I have stood in front of commissioner’s court and addressed key issues that are not financially sound and would cost you money.
- Issues of Deep Concern and Top Priority:
- Port of Entry
- Smart Growth Development
- Economic Development
- Infrastructure needs: (paved, roads, water, sewer, lighting, arroyo control)
- Transportation Funding
- Quality of Life Projects
- Healthcare: Thomason, Children’s Hospital, VA Hospital
- County Accountability and Transparency
- I will uphold to:
- 1. Ensure Open Communication Lines with all Constituents and Establish Strong Working Relationships with County Commissioners and El Paso leaders.
- 2. Secure Fiscal Accountability & Transparency
- 3. Impart Economic Development & Employment Opportunity
- 4. Provide Quality of Life Services (water/sewer infrastructure, health care services, better parks for our money, etc…)
- 5. Be your proactive county commissioner to better serve our El Paso County.
