This historic treasure located in the heart of San Elizario was built in the early part of the nineteenth century, during the Mexican Era. Though much of the original mansion has long since disappeared, the remaining structure represents “an outstanding example of Spanish colonial architecture with Territorial style elements.” Our Department is currently coordinating with Public Works and an architectural consultant to undertake a comprehensive restoration of Casa Ronquillo with anticipated grant support from the Texas Preservation Trust Fund.
