  • El Paso County is one of 40 locations nationwide selected by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in January 2002 to receive its designation as a Renewal Community (RC). Having been selected as an RC zone, El Paso County received special federal tax incentives. This initiative does not provide federal funds. Instead, it offers federal tax breaks to qualified business owners, developers and investors.

  • The Renewal Community Program is another approach to help stimulate new investment in our county and to expand employment. Benefits for those who take advantage of the incentives, especially coupled with other city, state and federal incentives can be substantial.

  • This federal program will run from January 2002 through December 31, 2009.
