  • The Juvenile Probation Department judicially processes juvenile referrals between the ages of 10-16 years who have been referred by law enforcement and other agencies for alleged delinquent conduct. Once probable cause and jurisdiction are established, the child may be released to parents, guardian or custodian, or a detention hearing is held within 24 hours of acceptance if the child cannot be released into the community prior to court proceedings. If the child is detained, he/she is held in the detention facility, a secure facility, that provides temporary care for juveniles pending court hearings.
