  • Prevention Programs
  •
  • The Prevention Programs available are the Conference Committees which are groups of local citizens appointed by the Juvenile Court Judge to handle minor offenses. The First Offender Program is for first time non-violent offenders.
  •
  • The Intervention Programs of Probation Services provide the necessary supervision of the juvenile in order to ensure compliance with the court order. Probation Services officers supervise juveniles who are released directly to the community or those who must be temporarily removed from their homes and later reintegrated into the community. Levels of probation include supervised probation, house arrest or electronic monitoring, intensive supervision, and residential placement in either a treatment facility or a correctional program.
  •
  • The Challenge Program is the department's juvenile boot camp which provides a highly regimented secure program to the most dangerous juvenile offenders in the community.
  •
  • Undocumented juveniles violating the law in El Paso County are referred either to the Border Children's Project and supervised in Mexico by the program coordinator, or are committed to T.Y.C. the state correctional facility for juveniles.
  •
  • The Juvenile Probation services are intended to protect and provide for public safety, provide family focused services in the least restrictive alternate, include treatment, training and rehabilitation, and recognize the legal rights of the juveniles and parents.
