The El Paso Mission Trail Historical Area Zoning Regulations were originally adopted and became effective on December 7, 1995. The jurisdiction of the Regulations is for the area known as the El Paso Mission Trail Historical Area, described in Section 231.172 of the Local Government Code, and as shown in the Land-Use Map. These Regulations were adopted to promote the following purposes:

  1. to provide for the orderly growth and development of the El Paso Mission Trial Historical Area;
  2. to promote tourism and use of parks, educational and recreation areas and preserving areas of historical, cultural, or architectural importance or significance for the residents of this state and other states and nations;
  3. to promote economic development that is compatible with the above-stated purposes;
  4. to lessen congestion in the streets and roads, prevent overcrowding of the land, and promote health and the general welfare;
  5. to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewer, parks, and other public requirements.
