With improved park lighting and improved restroom facilities, the Sports Park is embarking on an aggressive revitalization plan to better suit the sports community it serves.
The El Paso County Sportspark is home to the top competitive baseball programs in the area. The baseball park was originally built in 1986 on El Paso’s Far East side. The complex was originally designated to accommodate men’s softball and soccer. It was the first park in the area to host over 100 baseball teams. Its original design integrated five baseball fields and two soccer fields.
The Sportspark was purchased by El Paso County in 2002. It has continued to be home to the most competitive baseball teams in the area, integrating team play for various age groups and league divisions. The complex has become a commemorative place for the El Paso community, being home to the young men who grew up playing baseball and later the 2009 Baseball State Champions, The Socorro Bulldogs.
