J.M. HANKS HIGH SCHOOL 2023 HOMECOMING PARADE

September 1, 2023

El Paso, Texas – The El Paso Sheriff's Office Community Services Section participated in the 2023 J.M. Hanks High School Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. This year's parade theme was "C'mon Knights, Let's Go Party!" The parade began at the intersection of Lee Trevino and Pebble Hills and concluded at Hanks High School, situated at 2001 Lee Trevino.

The educational institution organized a pep rally at Excalibur Stadium, in addition to observing various customary school practices, including the ceremonial burning of the letter "H," paying tribute to the distinguished "teacher of the year," commemorating the school's 45th anniversary and culminating in a magnificent fireworks exhibition. It was a privilege to partake in the event alongside the esteemed presence of the Sheriff's Office vintage 1953 Chevy pickup truck and the 2005 GMC Hummer 2.

Emma Aveytia, the Student Activities Director at J. M. Hanks High School, oversaw the well-coordinated event. Additionally, we would like to extend special recognition to Emmah Leyva, a Junior at Hanks High School who holds the position of Manager for the girls' varsity basketball team and is a proud El Paso County Sheriff's Explorer Post 2005 member. Emmah collaborated with Ms. Aveytia, enabling our participation in this occasion. We express our gratitude to "Knights Kingdom" for their efforts.
