MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL 2023 HOMECOMING PARADE

September 15, 2023

EL PASO, TEXAS – The El Paso Sheriff’s Office Community Services and the Traffic Division participated in the 2023 Mountain View High School Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 14, 2023. This year’s parade theme was “Vamos a La Playa.” The procession commenced at Mountain View High School went through the residential neighborhoods and concluded at Mountain View High School.

The educational institution organized a pep rally at the Lobos Den Football Stadium, observing various customary school practices, including paying tribute to the distinguished “honored ex”, performances by the cheer and dance teams and culminating in a magnificent fireworks exhibition. This year, the Honored Alum was our own Deputy Jorge Torres from the Class of 2012, CONGRATULATIONS!

It was a privilege to partake in the event alongside the esteemed presence of the Sheriff’s Office 2015 Ford Explorer commemorating our fallen Deputy Peter John Herrera, and our newly purchased 2023 Ford F-150 from the Traffic Division. Ms. Elizabeth Saenz, Student Activity Director at Mountain High School, oversaw the well-coordinated event. Additionally, an immense gratitude to Ms. Lakesha Smith’s Law Enforcement students for walking and riding alongside the Sheriff’s Office vehicles.

Furthermore, we would like to extend special recognition to the entire Mountain View High School staff, the student body, and the community of Montana Vista for ensuring the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s participation in this significant community event. The school upholds its motto, “Lobos Will Be Heard.” Mountain View you were heard last night, thank you, Lobos, for your efforts.
