DOWNTOWN VETERANS DAY PARADE 2023

SHERIFF’S OFFICE RELEASE

EL PASO, TX – On November 11th, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Community Service Section and Explorer Post 2005 celebrated the Downtown Veterans Day Parade with the United American Veterans Organization of El Paso. The parade started at the intersection of Myrtle and Florence and proceeded towards beautiful downtown El Paso, ending at the intersection of Texas and Florence. The event saw the participation of numerous organizations, including floats, marching bands, and military groups, which delighted several spectators.

The Sheriff's Office participated in this event for the first time, honoring the brave men and women who have selflessly served the nation, alongside the Sheriff's Office 2015 Ford Explorer, commemorating our fallen Deputy Peter John Herrera and the 2005 GMC Hummer. It was an opportunity to honor our veterans' sacrifices and unwavering dedication. We thank the veterans within our ranks for continuing to protect and serve our community with the same passion and commitment they displayed in the military. Their invaluable skills, experience, and resilience positively impact our agency and the people we serve.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the veterans in our community. Your courage, sacrifice, and devotion to upholding freedom and democracy inspire us all. Your unwavering commitment to protecting our great nation is a shining example of honor and duty.
