FUGITIVE APPREHENSION UNIT ARREST- VICTOR TRUJILLO

El Paso, TexasOn May 16, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received a felony arrest warrant for 26-year-old Victor Trujillo. Trujillo was wanted for theft of property >2500<30K. Deputies located Trujillo at his residence near the 200 block of NW J in Fabens, Texas. Trujillo was taken into custody without incident and booked into El Paso County Jail with a bond set at $5000.00.

El Paso, TexasOn May 16, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received a felony arrest warrant for 26-year-old Emmanuel De la Cruz. De La Cruz was wanted for one count of Burglary of Habitation (Intend Other Felony). Deputies located De La Cruz near the 600 block of Agua Azul Pl. De La Cruz was taken into custody without incident and booked into El Paso County Jail under a $50,000.00 Bond.

CAREER DAY AT PAUL MORENO ELEMENTARY

El Paso, TexasOn Friday, May 12, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Community Service Deputies attended a career day at Paul Moreno Elementary School at 2300 San Diego Ave, El Paso County, Texas. The presentation was for students in Pre-K to 5th grade. Deputies took pictures of the students with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Hummer and enjoyed the Sheriff's Office giveaways. In addition, Sheriff Deputies talked about what it takes to be a Sheriff Deputy, how one becomes a Sheriff Deputy, the daily activities and responsibilities, their equipment, and the difference between a Sheriff Deputy and a Police Officer.

Career Day at Davenport Elementary

El Paso, TexasOn May 12, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies with the Northwest Patrol Station participated in Career Day at Deanna Davenport Elementary School in Canutillo. They met with students from Pre-K through 4th grade, provided insight into the daily duties of deputies in the field, and provided information on how they could join the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Students also took part in equipment demonstrations. Students and staff were excited to see the Sheriff's Office on campus.

Krystle McClain, 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Inclusion/Resource/DRD Cheerleading Coach, and her 8th-grade students stopped by Headquarters on Friday, May 5th, 2023, to deliver some goodies for our Deputies saying, “The kids wanted to give back for what you do for our county and hope that you will accept the kind gesture that these kids have worked hard for in putting together.” The 8th-grade students who delivered the goodie bags are also part of the cheer team for the school.

13 Counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child - Arrest - Samuel Jose Lopez

El Paso, Texas On May 7th, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Montana Patrol Station responded to the 5000 block of Phillips Dr. in reference to a wanted subject. Deputies located and apprehended 34-year-old Samuel Jose Lopez. Lopez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail under 13 counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Lopez is being held without bond at the El Paso County Jail.

El Paso, TexasOn May 5th, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Montana Patrol Station responded to the 14800 block of Montana Ave. in reference to the theft of a trailer. Deputies were able to locate and apprehend the subject as he was driving away with the stolen trailer. The subject was identified as 34-year-old Victor Alfonso Navarro. Navarro was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail and charged with Theft of Property $2,500 less than $30,000. He is being held under a $11,000 bond.

Operation Safe Streets (May 2nd 2023)

El Paso, TexasOn May 2nd, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office conducted Operation Safe Streets. The operation was led by the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit and utilized personnel from several units within the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division. The operation resulted in 18 people being arrested, clearing 21 felony warrants. Although the total bond amount for all executed warrants was $1,076,000.00, 4 of the 21 executed warrants had no bond issued.

Endeavors Veterans Mental Health Summit

El Paso, TexasOn Tuesday, May 2nd, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team attended the Endeavors Veterans Mental Health Summit. Endeavors is a family clinic that provides in-person and virtual high-quality, accessible, and integrated mental health care to veterans, regardless of role while in uniform, discharge status, combat experience, active-duty service members, and military families.

The team gained resources from regional and national leaders to better serve and support the community throughout the unincorporated areas of El Paso County. Among those leaders was United States Air Force General David Goldfein (retired), who was the 21st Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, where he shared the mental health issues within the United States Armed Forces and how they have been working to improve mental health care for their service members. Another notable leader at this event was Doctor Ragini Verma, the head of Biomarkers & Clinical Development, who shared her expertise in neuroimaging, biomarkers, preclinical and clinical analytics, and clinical translation. Traumatic brain injuries were the focus of this event, and the Crisis Intervention Team was able to network with outside agencies in a better effort to provide quality service to clients and the community of El Paso County.

Kite Day at Carroll T. Welch Elementary

El Paso, TexasOn Friday, April 28, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers and the Crisis Intervention Team joined students for Kite Day at Carroll T. Welch Elementary. Kite Day was organized to provide students a fun outdoor activity while fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. Students were excited to fly kites with law enforcement officers and their Emergence Health Network peers. The Crisis Intervention Team and School Resource Officer enjoyed spending time with the students and were happy to be part of the event.

FUGITIVE APPREHENSION UNIT ARREST– Cecilia Valenzuela

May 2, 2023

El Paso, TexasOn April 28, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit received an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Cecilia Valenzuela. Valenzuela was wanted for one outstanding criminal warrant for Aggravated Robbery. Deputies located Valenzuela at 7722 North Loop Dr. in El Paso County, TX., and took her into custody. Valenzuela was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and held with a bond of $100,000.00.
