56.       Pursuant to the Property Tax Code, § 26.05(d), propose a tax rate or, pursuant to the Property Tax Code, § 26.05(a), adopt a tax rate for the County of El Paso.  If the proposed tax rate exceeds the lower of the rollback tax rate or the effective tax rate, take a record vote and schedule a public hearing.  It is recommended that this public hearing be held in Commissioners Court Chambers, Room 303, on Tuesday September 18, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. and a second public hearing be held in Commissioners Court Chambers, Room 303, Friday September 21, 2007 at 5:30 p.m.  It is the recommendation of the County Auditor that the Court propose the effective tax rate of $0.360267 which consists of an I&S rate of $0.048035 and an M&O rate of $0.312232.
