DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The El Paso County Attorney’s Office represents the County, its officials, and employees in a wide range of legal matters. It also prosecutes cases affecting families and children, including juvenile crime, child and elder abuse, mental health issues, and family violence. The office enforces state and county environmental and health laws, such as illegal dumping, clean air, and water regulations. Its work encompasses civil and criminal litigation, collections, and general counsel services. Community service is a key focus of the office.
