Investigators

The Public Defender’s Office has a dedicated team of investigators who work closely with our attorneys and other team members on clients’ cases.  They are a vital part of our holistic client representation. Our investigators focus on supporting attorneys work to fight the State’s factual claims, including:

• Meeting with Clients detained in the El Paso County Detention Facility and Jail Annex
• Photographing clients’ injuries
• Interviewing witnesses
• Meeting with complaining witnesses who want to drop charges, and obtaining non-prosecution statements
• Documenting the scenes of alleged crimes
• Obtaining video evidence, including security camera videos
• Serving subpoenas
