The Civil Division is responsible for assisting attorneys; legal assistants and the public in the assignment of all new civil suits and other filed pleadings in civil matters. Some of the most common types of cases filed with the Civil Division are personal injuries involving motor vehicles, and those not involving motor vehicles, collection cases, and tax cases. FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

YES. Call 546-2000 in advance to have your file waiting for you, or e-mail your request to DistrictClerk@epcounty.com . Please keep in mind that disposed cases will require a 24-hour waiting period to retrieve files.
NO. The District Clerk's Office does not provide forms to file. You may use the Law Library located at 500 E. San Antonio, on the 12th floor to do any research of language needed for drawing up pleadings.
Copies are $0.50 per page. A certified copy is $1.00 per page up to a maximum of $5.00 per document.
YES. To expedite your request, please call in advance to order your file. Copies must be paid in advance.
You may call 915.546.2037 to obtain information about the Court's Registry. Once it is determined that monies have been deposited on your behalf the Accounting Department can instruct you further on procedures to obtaining your funds.
