The Law Library has three (3) Conference/Training Rooms available during normal operating hours to facilitate trainings, department meetings, hearings, mediations, and conferences. Usage may be scheduled with Library staff. All rooms have access to Wi-Fi at “EPC-Public.”

  1. 13th Floor (Small) – Sombras Del Pasado Room

    • One elevator accesses the 13th floor of the courthouse. Entrance to and exit from the library to the elevator bay requires staff assistance. Stairs are available in the library.
    • No telephone
    • Small work table
    • Seats five (5) maximum
  2. 13th Floor (Large) – The Phoenix

    • One elevator accesses the 13th floor of the courthouse. Entrance to and exit from the library to the elevator bay requires staff assistance. Stairs are available in the library.
    • No telephone
    • 65" wall-mounted monitor
    • Webcam and microphone enabled for the entire room
    • One (1) large conference table
    • Seats six (6) at the table; up to two (2) additional seats may be available in the room
  3. Archive / Training Room

    • 12th floor; enter through the main library
    • Movable seminar tables; can be set up in multiple configurations
    • Seats twenty-five (25) in a classroom setting, with capacity for five (5) additional individuals
    • Two (2) mounted 65" flat-screen televisions. Laptop provided; DVD available. Advance verification of technology compatibility is recommended for remote-access meetings or when bringing personal devices.

All rooms are available by reservation on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reservations may be made in person, by telephone at (915) 273-3699, or by email at eplawlibrary@epcounty.com.

Advance notification of cancellation is appreciated. No-shows will be monitored. Habitual no-shows may result in loss of guaranteed reservation privileges.

Due to the dual purpose of the Archive/Training Room, it may be utilized only under the following conditions:

  1. All other conference rooms are unavailable; or
  2. The group size exceeds eight (8) individuals; or
  3. Prior approval is granted by the Law Librarian or Assistant Law Librarian.

Vacant rooms may be utilized; however, reservations will take priority. Please check with Library staff for availability.

Access to meeting rooms is a privilege. Library staff reserve the right to deny access.

A calendar identifying the room, user, date, and time reserved is maintained by Library staff. This calendar is not web-based in order to protect privacy and confidentiality.

A Google Calendar is also maintained on the Law Library’s web page for general availability reference. In the event of a scheduling conflict, the staff calendar is the authoritative source. Personally identifiable information is not displayed on the public calendar.

Four individual respite rooms are in 13th floor computer room area opposite of arched window. These rooms also may be reserved or used on a first come, first served basis. Reservations will take priority. Only one (1) person per room.
