- The Backgrounds Section is comprised of one (1) sergeant, two (2) deputy investigators, three (3) polygraph examiners, and one (1) administrative specialist. The main responsibility of the Backgrounds Section is to conduct thorough and complete investigations of applicants for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and multiple entities for the County of El Paso. The complete investigations ensure the applicant’s credibility, reliability, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Office Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (915) 538-2016.
