The spay and neuter program is open to residents of Horizon City, Vinton, Socorro, Anthony, Clint, San Elizario, and residents of other unincorporated areas within El Paso County.

Please take note of the following before booking your spay and neuter appointment.

Ø All spay and neuter services are available by appointment ONLY.

Ø Appointments are limited to the first 20 pets per event.

The order will take effect on September 9, 2018, at the expiration of the prior burn ban.

HOSTS NATIONAL COFFEE WITH A DEPUTY DAY

September 24, 2018

El Paso, TX – Sheriff Richard D. Wiles and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting National “Coffee with a Deputy” Day, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

Sheriff’s deputies will join officers from law enforcement agencies in all 50 states and five foreign countries in observing National “Coffee with a Deputy/Cop” Day.

The national movement focuses on building trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve.  Sheriff’s Office deputies will be on-hand to address questions or issues being faced by citizens in their neighborhoods.

Sheriff Richard D. Wiles and the deputies of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office invite you to join us for a cup of coffee and a conversation.

The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the following locations:

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Pets Advancing Wellness Success (PAWS) program graduate ready for her “forever” home.

Sheriff Richard Wiles and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Animal Rescue League of El Paso created the PAWS (Pets Advancing Wellness and Success) vocational program to assist inmates in attaining vocational training and to provide homeless pets an opportunity to be adopted.

Canine Cadet Sissy completed the program on September 20, 2018, and is basic obedience certified. Sissy is a one-year-old Old English Sheepdog mix. She loves to socialize with other dogs and is great with children.

El Paso, TX – Sheriff Richard Wiles, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 2005 will be hosting its Annual Haunted House this Halloween season.

            The haunted house will be held at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters located at 3850 Justice, Dr. El Paso, TX 79938.

The following is the scare schedule for the haunted house:

GRAND OPENING WEEKEND: October 12th – 13th from 7 pm - 12 am and October 14th 6pm – 10pm.

October 18th from 6pm – 10pm, October 19th – 20th from 7 pm - 12 am and October 14th 6pm – 10pm.

October 25th from 6pm – 10pm, October 26th – 27th from 7 pm - 12 am.

October 28th – 30th from 6pm – 10pm and October 31st from 6pm – 12am.

Media day will be on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 7:00pm. Join us for a SPOOKY thrill!

Tickets prices are as follows: $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. There will be a $1 off admission with the donation of a can food item.

             The Sheriff’s Office will also have educational community service opportunities for those interested in being part of the “BEST HAUNTED HOUSE” in El Paso. For more information on becoming a volunteer please contact Public Information Officer Leslie Antunez at 915-538-2223.

             Proceeds will benefit the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 2005 – a non-profit organization 501(C)(3).

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Detention Bureau will be hosting a community meeting for residents on Saturday, September 22, 2018.

This meeting will provide residents the opportunity to learn about the operations of the facility, shift operations, and new and current inmate programs. Residents will also be able to ask questions about the detention facilities.

The meeting is open to ALL members of the community and our media partners, the meeting will begin at 11:00 am at the Sheriff’s Office Jail Annex Briefing Room– 12501 Montana Ave.

El Paso, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will host a course to help unlicensed drivers become licensed.

The program is FREE to first-time drivers, new Texas residents, or individuals eligible to have their driving privileges reinstated.

Sheriff’s Office COP Representatives will cover the Texas Driver License Handbook which includes the following topics:  How to apply for your Texas driver license, signals, signs, and markers, signaling, passing, and turning, speed limits, Zero Tolerance Law, giving way to pedestrians, registering your vehicle, changing your address and becoming an organ donor. The class is bilingual to ensure that no one is left behind.

The course is FREE. Please note the course is NOT a driving school replacement, therefore we ask all participants be at least 25 years old. Class sizes are limited to 20 students. If you are interested in signing up or need more information please contact the course coordinator at the East Montana Patrol Station.

The course will begin September 20th, at the La Fe Community Center located at 14618 Greg Dr.

The Sheriff’s Office believes by empowering the citizens with the knowledge needed to pass the driver license exam, we reduce the number of unlicensed drivers. 

*This course is only intended to help understand and educate the public about the Texas Driver Handbook.

*Persons will not be checked on their driver’s license status and vehicles will not be inspected.
