FIRST ANNUAL JUSTICE 4 JUNIORS EVENT

July 29, 2023

EL PASO, TEXAS – On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, The El Paso County Sheriff's Office attended the First Annual Justice 4 Juniors- an event created to bring awareness and end crimes committed against children. The event was held at the Bulldog Championship Park located at 316 Buford Rd., Socorro, TX, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Several sections within the Office participated in this great event. These sections in attendance were Deputies from the Peter J. Herrera Station, East Montana Station, Traffic Section, Community Services Section, K-9, and the Crisis Intervention Team. The District Attorney's Office, local law enforcement, local businesses, and local community support organizations brought Justice 4 Juniors to the community's children to encourage them to speak up when hurt. Children should be able to express themselves when harmed or uncomfortable without fear of repercussions. We want to help raise independent children who are strong-minded, well-informed, and, most importantly, courageous when confronted with a challenging situation. We want to teach our children that if they become victims, an entire community is dedicated to and eager to support them. The event included free activities for the children in attendance, such as field games, a splash park, prizes, and much more. Thank you all for your contributions to this great event!

COFFEE WITH A DEPUTY –ON JULY 19, 2023

July 20, 2023

El Paso, Texas – On July 19, 2023, El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies celebrated Coffee with a Deputy Day. Community Service Deputies and Deputies from the Peter J. Hererra station met at Cotton Eye Joe's Restaurant at 1591 N FM 1110 RD. Clint, TX 79836. The Deputies' mission during this event is to break down the barriers between law enforcement officers and the citizens they serve. The event allows citizens to discuss issues and learn more about each other. It is a casual atmosphere, and the Sheriff's Office will have this event bi-monthly throughout the year. The goal is to build trust in person, having real conversations about issues that matter to El Paso County citizens. Deputies met with citizens, answered some of their concerns, and we provided "Lock it or Lose it" and "Illegal Dumping" flyers, which give tips to citizens on how to prevent being the victims of burglary of a vehicle and how to report illegal dumping in their area. The citizens were happy to meet with the deputies.
