PARENTS AS TEACHERS PROGRAM -EVENT

PARENTS AS TEACHERS PROGRAM Event

August 4, 2021

El Paso, Texas – On 7/24/21 El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Deputies from the Northwest Station assisted United Way of El Paso County with an event held at Hidden Valley Park (200 Coconut Tree, El Paso TX).  United Way of El Paso County teamed up with our local community to offer the Parents as Teachers Program.  Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a free home visitation program that works to increase parents’ knowledge of early child development and helps prepare children for school.

To show appreciation for the families who have participated in the program, United Way of El Paso County decided to have a gathering at Hidden Valley Park.  At the event the Sheriff’s Office Deputies set up a booth and handed out information reference car seat safety, coloring books that teach child safety, and pamphlets with information on school zone safety.  Deputies allowed the children who attended to take a look inside patrol cars.
