Vehicle Pursuit Incident

NEWS RELEASE: El Paso, Texas - On December 1^st at 1042 hours the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Section received notification from Socorro Police Department of a vehicle pursuit, with shots fired, entering the unincorporated areas of the County of El Paso.  Once the pursuit concluded the Sheriff’s Office determined that the pursuit stemmed from an incident in the City of Socorro.  The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred during the incident.  The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that 27 year old Aaron Salazar has died as a result of the incident.  The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office will provide details as they become available.
