MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON 1-10 WEST MILE MARKER 36

El Paso, TX – On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at approximately 3:30 pm. El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on i-10 West mile marker 36. Deputies arrived to find a 5-vehicle accident. The two children and an adult female were transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. I-10 West mile marker 36 is currently closed. Traffic is being diverted to the Horizon Exit on to gateway west. Once it's clear we will notify the public.

El Paso, TX – On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at approximately 11:00 am. El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on i-10 West mile marker 37. Deputies arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident involving an RV and a semi-truck. The passenger of the RV was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition. Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators are on the scene. I-10 West mile marker 37 is currently closed until the investigation is complete. Traffic is being diverted to the Horizon Exit. Once it's clear we will notify the public.

MOST WANTED TAKEN INTO CUSTODY DURING TRAFFIC STOP

El Paso, TX – El Paso, TX – On Saturday, February 12, 2022, at approximately 10:30 pm. El Paso County Sheriff's Office Deputies assigned to the Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station conducted a traffic stop at the 300 block of Las Palomas Dr. Deputies immediately recognized the front passenger as Pablo Soto. Soto was recently featured on the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted with outstanding warrants for Sexual Assault. Deputies also found Soto to be in possession of 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Soto was subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail with a $53,000.00 bond.

UPDATE: El Paso, TX - 18-year-old Carlos Alberto Sifuentes has been arrested for the murder of 43-year-old Azul Jade Ruiz. He has been booked into the El Paso County Jail for Murder. He is jailed in lieu of a $2,000,000.00 bond
El Paso, TX – On February 12, 2021, 11:40 pm. the Socorro Police Department received a call in reference to shots fired at the 200 block of Isabel Way., in Socorro Texas. Officers arrived at the scene at 11:46 pm. and determined that a shooting had occurred and as a result, a 43-year-old female had been injured. The female was transported to a local hospital where she passed away as a result of her injuries. The Socorro Police Department requested the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that the victim is 43-year-old Azul Jade Ruiz. No arrests have been made and the case is still an active investigation.

El Paso, TX – El Paso, TX – On February 12, 2021, 11:40 pm. the Socorro Police Department received a call in reference to shots fired at the 200 block of Isabel Way., in Socorro Texas. Officers arrived at the scene at 11:46 pm. and determined that a shooting had occurred and as a result, a 43-year-old female had been injured. The female was transported to a local hospital where she passed away as a result of her injuries. The Socorro Police Department requested the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that the victim is 43-year-old Azul Jade Ruiz. No arrests have been made and the case is still an active investigation.

NARCOTIC ARREST - TWO ADULT MALES

El Paso, TX – On February 09, 2022, at approximately 2:00 PM El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Detectives and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Agents conducted a narcotic operation at the 12100 block of Montana Ave.
During the course of investigation Detectives discovered two adult males in possession of 82 LBS of California Kush/Hybrid Marijuana. The Adult Males were subsequently arrested and charged with Delivery of Marijuana Over 50 LBS – Under 2000 LBS. The street value of this type of marijuana is approximately $1,087,200.00

WANTED SEX OFFENDER – ALFREDO GARZA

El Paso, TX – On February 07, 2022, Alfredo Garza absconded from the El Paso Multi-Use Facility, located at the 1700 block of Horizon Blvd. After reporting to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration and Tracking Unit, he failed to return to the facility. Garza's whereabouts are unknown, and he is now wanted for a parole violation. An additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Indecency with a Child / Contact, the victim being a 7-year-old female.

INJURY TO A CHILD

El Paso, Texas – On February 5, 2022, El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Family Violence call at the 200 block of Holguin., in the Village of Vinton. The preliminary investigation revealed that Arturo Hernandez had intentionally struck a one-year-old child in the face with an electrical cord leaving a large welt under the child’s eye. Arturo Hernandez was placed under arrest for Injury to a Child and subsequently booked into the El Paso County Jail.
