DEPUTIES ASSIST FAMILY AT the 7500 Block of WILLOUGHBY IN CANUTILLO

April 5, 2022

El Paso, Texas – On March 18, 2022, at approximately 12:00 pm., El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies from the Northwest Patrol Station were conducting their regular patrol duties, when they observed a vehicle along with the Rio Grande River levy close to the 7500 block of Willoughby in Canutillo, Texas. Deputies conducted a welfare check and discovered that a family (husband, wife, and five children) were staying in a small tent by the river because they had recently been evicted from their apartment and had no place to stay. Upon realizing the situation of this family, the deputies immediately coordinated to provide the family with food, water, and blankets. Also, deputies were able to make arrangements with the Salvation Army, who accepted the mother and children to provide them with shelter and other services. Deputies transported the children and their mother to the Salvation Army, while the husband was provided gas money by deputies so he could utilize his vehicle to visit his family. With this, deputies show their community how much they care about their well-being, and that their jobs not only require preventing and investigating crime but helping people in need.
