Federal Funding to expand the Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention TEAM

El Paso, Texas - The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Emergence Health Network is the recipient of $2,015,000.00 dollars in federal funding. This funding is introduced by Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and will provide startup funding to expand the Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team. The expansion will take place by October 2022 and will add one lieutenant, one sergeant, seven deputies, and 8 EHN clinicians to the team. The expansion of the team will provide mental health resources to the El Paso Community in an effort to direct citizens that are experiencing a mental health crisis to the appropriate services.
