Traffic stop at the 14100 block of Fort Defiance Dr.

El Paso, Texas – On Saturday, July 30th, 2022, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Montana Patrol Station conducted a traffic stop at the 14100 block of Fort Defiance Dr. Through the course of the investigation, deputies located a THC vape pin and a handgun underneath the driver’s seat. The driver also had cocaine and Xanax on his person. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 17-year-old Joshoa Gutierrez. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 2: <1 G), Possession of Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 2: 1-4 G), Possession of Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 3: < 28G), Possession of Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1: <1G), and Unlawful Carrying of Weapon. Gutierrez was booked into the El Paso County Jail without further incident, under a combined bond of $5,000. A 16-year-old juvenile passenger reported as a runaway was located in the vehicle and released to EPPD.
