UPDATE - Motor vehicle accident on Gateway East & Nuevo HUECO RD

El Paso, Texas UPDATE - At this time driver has been identified as 28-year-old Diego Chavez of the 800 block of Troy in El Paso County Texas. This is the first traffic fatality in El Paso County for 2023 compared to 0 in 2022 at this same time.

El Paso, Texas – On January 4, 2023, at approximately 4:40 am, El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to Gateway East and Nuevo Hueco Tanks Road regarding a single motor vehicle accident with serious injuries involving a motorcycle. Special Traffic Investigators are investigating the incident. There is a roadway closure at i-10 east at the Eastlake offramp. Gateway east from loop 365 to Eastlake will be closed for the next four hours. No further information is available at this time.
