El Paso, Texas – On February 2nd, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section was invited to North Star Elementary School and participated in World Read Aloud Day. This day is an opportunity for people all around the world to celebrate the joy of reading aloud and advocate for literacy. Sgt. Gutierrez had the privilege to read his favorite picture book to forty-five 3rd graders, answer questions regarding law enforcement, and pass out coloring books, crayons, and Sheriff’s badges. The book Sgt. Gutierrez shared with the students is titled “The Bad Seed.”
