CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM COORDINATOR CERTIFICATION

El Paso, Texas – On August 13th, 2023, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) attended the 2023 CIT International conference hosted at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan.

CIT International Conference provides mental health training to first responders and mental health providers worldwide. The hosted conference also allowed agencies to provide cross-training and share ideas and solutions to overcome similar challenges.

In addition, our EPSO-CIT members completed extensive training and CIT Coordinator Certifications. Such certifications will allow our team to serve our community better, provide more resources to people needing assistance, and help raise awareness of mental health and de-escalation techniques to other law enforcement agencies.
