EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND UNITED AMERICAN VETERANS ORGANIZATION FORGE PARTNERSHIP TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
El Paso, Texas - August 25, 2023 - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO) and the United American Veterans Organization (UAVO) are pleased to announce their collaborative efforts to enhance joint community engagement in El Paso. This partnership seeks to foster a stronger relationship between law enforcement and the local veteran community, promoting mutual understanding, support, and the goal of maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents.
As part of this initiative, representatives from the EPCSO and UAVO recently held a productive meeting to discuss strategies and action plans. Both organizations recognize veterans' valuable contributions to society and the importance of supporting their successful reintegration into civilian life. By joining forces, they aim to create programs and events to facilitate positive interactions between veterans, law enforcement, and the wider community.
Vanessa Tena, the Public Affairs Director of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, expressed her enthusiasm for this new partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to collaborate with the United American Veterans Organization to strengthen our community engagement efforts. Our veterans have selflessly served our nation, and some continue to serve as law enforcement employees. We must provide them with the support and resources they deserve. The collaboration between the EPCSO and UAVO will focus on several key initiatives, including:
